Small Steps for a Business Owner, Giant Leaps for our Planet
In the heart of the Lifescience industry, where innovation and progress are our daily bread, I am proud to share a personal journey that intertwines with the mission of my company, Carfil Quality.
Last year, I embarked on a new venture, not in the lab, but on the road. I invested in a new truck, a DAF LF, from our local dealer, Trucar in Turnhout. But this isn't just any truck. It's an Eco 6 vehicle designed with the environment in mind.
But the journey didn't stop there. Last month, I was invited by DAF to participate in a free training focused on eco-friendly driving. After diving into the theory, we hit the road for a 3-hour practical session. The insights I gained were invaluable. Not only did I learn how to reduce fuel consumption, but also discovered how this mindful driving can positively impact the wear of tyres and brakes.
This training is part of the "Code 95", a mandatory program for truck drivers in Belgium. I am grateful for this opportunity and would like to extend my thanks to Trucar, DAF Trucks NV, and the dedicated trainee from the driving school Rijschool Fury.
As business owners, we have the power to make a difference. By taking these small steps, we can collectively lower our carbon footprint and contribute to a more sustainable future.
